I have always had a desire to keep bees, but a military career and bee keeping were never mutually compatible occupations.
Having retired from the Royal Navy after a 32 year career I was in a position to consider bee keeping as a hobby. So, I tentatively approached Sue Hoult about bee keeping and how to go about learning.
I went to a couple of Launceston Beekeepers meetings, joined the CBKA and attended a very informative and well run theory course that was organised and run by Launceston Beekeepers' very own Dennis Scott - with the added benefit of excellent post tutorial cake provided by his wonderful wife Anne.
I got my first hive in 2016. I now have 2 apiaries and several hives.
